AP16/25/26/27 Virtual Feedback Applications

Simrad’s virtual feedback technology results in the first truly feedbackless autopilot. With this patented technology it is no longer necessary to mount a feedback unit nor do we need an rpm counter or connection to the tachometers. This results in a simpler, less expensive installation. With fewer parts to mount or connect there are less parts to fail. Virtual feedback technology is now standard in all the outboard and I/O systems listed below. In all other autopilot systems it is still required that you mount a feedback unit. Note: all virtual feedback systems must use the RC36 rate compass. Systems that do not mount a feedback unit will not provide a rudder angle readout.

AP16 Autopilot
The AP16 is a reduced size unit which features the same reliability, power and advanced functions as some of the larger autopilots in the Simrad range. The AP16 also utilises SimNet, Simrad’s brand new, highly advanced, single cable electronic interconnection and advanced data sharing and control system.

AP25 Autopilot
AP25 is the top of the range model with a 5" high resolution matrix LCD that presents you with a lot of information. Particular attention has been paid to offer simple and intuitive operation. The use of graphics enhances the presentation in clear and easy read pages. Dedicated mode keys and well arranged menus for setup and information makes it simple to experience all the features provided in the AP25.

AP26 Autopilot
AP26 is the compact model for vessels with limited console space. It contains the same steering software and operational characteristics as the AP25. The AP26 can be used as a stand alone control unit or as a second station.

AP27 handheld Autopilot
AP27 is an ergonomic, handheld model with 7m (23ft.) of cable. Operational capability and software is identical to that of AP26. Used as a stand alone control or as a second station, the AP27 offers full control in the cockpit or on the flybridge.
