collection. Now you can see slip detail as well as the locations for onshore
facilities.
ClearView and ClearInfo Technology
All chart objects are fully prioritized to allow intelligent chart
de-cluttering.
FlexiZoom feature allows under zooming of charts with no increase in clutter and
over zooming to a much greater magnification than previously possible.
Information about chart objects is displayed in simple plain English
New Value Added Data
When developing MAX, C-Map not only focused on the powerful features and
functions of MAX, but also on the intrinsic design factors that directly effect
the ultimate quality and precision of MAX electronic charts. Drawing on the
experience C-Map have gained in supplying charts to the Professional SOLAS
shipping market, our engineers have doubled the data resolution that chart
objects are stored at, creating smoother contour lines and more accurate
positioning of all the objects that appear on a MAX chart. All of these
improvements are designed to meet the new International ISO 19379 standard for
Electronic charts and MAX will be put forward for testing and approval during
2005. With a worldwide database of over 20,000 charts, updated on a continuous
weekly basis and an internal ISO9002 approved chart production and quality
process, MAX users can be assured that they are using the very best quality
electronic charts available on the market today
Max Compatible Products
Below are some of the manufacturers that have MAX compatible products
available in 2005. Many other manufacturers intend to release MAX products
during 2005, so do check that your chart plotter is MAX ready before buying.
MAX represents a giant step forward in chart technology that will empower a
new generation of chart plotters with knock-out performance, blistering speed
and unparalleled levels of accuracy and detail. What is more, the hardware of
many existing models of chart plotter are already MAX Ready and can fully
support MAX with a simple software update.
C-Maps award winning NT+ cartography (NMEA voted Best Electronic Charts for
six consecutive years) has also had some great new changes to its catalogue
and pricing structure to bring it in-line with MAX. The hundreds of thousands
of existing NT+ users will all benefit from these changes and continue to
purchase and update NT+ cartridges at even lower prices.
Existing C-Map customers, wishing to buy a new MAX plotter, will be pleased to
learn that they can use their NT or NT+ cartridges in their new MAX plotter.
By keeping this backward compatibility, C-Map are helping their customers to
embrace new technology whilst avoiding the costly expense of having to buy a
completely new set of cartridges.
As always there will also be a cartridge upgrade or trade-in program for
people to move from NT/NT+ to MAX in a cost effective manner.
PC-Planner
In the early part of next year, C-Map will be updating their popular
PC-Planner program to support MAX. It will be possible for existing PC-Planner
users to upgrade to the new version.
MAXonPC
For customers with PC Navigation programs that use our much respected NTonPC
charts, C-Map will release MAXonPC giving them the power of MAX on their PC.
