The RC1815 is a pre-wired GMDSS Console
that meets all of the carriage requirements for ships navigating in Sea Area
A1/A2/A3. This simple and reliable package consists of the FM8800S DSC-VHF/FM
Radiotelephone, FS1570 MF/HF Radiotelephone/DSC Watch Receiver/Telex, IB58/3
Terminal Unit and PP510 Printer. Because the RC1815 comes as a pre-wired kit, it
offers a flexible and space-saving solution which helps to minimize installation
time on both existing vessels and new builds.
FM8800S - DSC-VHF/FM Marine Radiotelephone
FURUNO FM-8800S is a high quality, all-in-one marine VHF radiotelephone
designed to comply with the GMDSS carriage requirements for safety and general
communications. All the necessary functions such as a 25 W VHF radiotelephone, a
Class A DSC modem and a CH 70 Watch Receiver are incorporated into the compact
transceiver unit.
The FM-8800S offers simplex/semi-duplex voice communications with high sound
quality thanks to its speaker designed to lower the strain. Operators are
allowed to conduct communication clearly at any situation. For easy readout of a
selected channel, the silver-bright LCD is placed on the front panel indicates
the channel numbers with large and easy-to-read characters. Selected channel is
easily made with the dedicated rotary control or numeric keys. Other standard
features are instant access to CH 16, telephone call via a PSTN, Dual Watch and
Multiple Watch functions, which allow watch on CH 16 and other selected
channels.
Full Class A DSC functions are provided for distress alert transmission and
reception, as well as the general DSC communications including Individual
Telephone, All Ships, Group and Area Call. The FM-8800S maintains a continual
watch on CH 70 even while you are using another VHF channel. Upon receiving an
incoming DSC message, the FM-8800S gives aural and visual alarms.
ATIS (Automatic Transmitter Identification System) is standard fitted for use
in European inland waterways. It automatically transmits the ID number when a
communication is over or every 5 min while in communication. The ATIS mode and
DSC mode are selectable through the menu.
FS1570 - MF/HF Radiotelephone/DSC Watch Receiver/Telex (150W)
The FS1570 is a MF/HF radiotelephone that is fully capable of GMDSS
operations. In addition to standard radio operation, it can operate as DSC
(Digital Selective Call) on general communications and as a DSC Watch Receiver
on all distress and safety frequencies in MF and HF bands. A telex modem (NBDP)
accompanies the transceiver unit for general message transfer and distress
message/maritime safety information handling, satisfying the carriage
requirements for GMDSS A3-A4 sea areas.
The FS1570 maintains a continuous watch on a distress call, even while you
are exchanging normal voice messages. The DSC channels can be individually set
or all selected channels can be automatically scanned. When a DSC message is
received, the radiotelephone gives audible and visual alarms. It works on all
authorized transmit frequencies between 1.6 and 27.5 MHz. Receiver frequencies
are selectable between 100kHz and 30Mhz in 10Hz steps. The transmit and receive
frequencies can be selected separately or in pair. The digital frequency
synthesizer provides high frequency stability for DSC and NBDP as well as
telephony operation.
IB583 Terminal
The IB583 is a 10.4" color LCD display for use with RC1800 series GMDSS
consoles. The IB583 displays messages at 72 characters/line with 25
lines/screen. File management, text editor and utility programs ensure easy
operation. The terminal also comes with a disk drive.
INMARSAT-C MES FELCOM 15
The Inmarsat-C system provides a quality two-way telex and data link between
ships and other parties at sea or on land. The Felcom 15 provides all functions
and services of the Inmarsat-C system: EGC (safety NET/FleetNET), distress
message handling, two-way digital store-and-forward messaging including polling,
data reporting, E-mail, etc.
Distress alerts are initiated by the remote distress alert unit. The distress
message including own ship's position is easily edited. The distress alert
button is incorporated in the display for emergencies. Data files and utility
programs on floppy disks are easily loaded into the processor through the front
loading disk drive in the display unit.
