The Nobeltec® InSight™ Sounder delivers superior performance and features for the integrated PC navigation system, whether you're using it for fishing or safety. It provides exceptional target and bottom detail and a wealth of standard and advanced features such as dual frequencies, temperature display and range, gain and shift settings.

The InSight Sounder integrates with both Visual Navigation Suite and Admiral 7.1 and higher to create a complete sounder/chart plotter solution. When used in conjunction with either of these programs, you can view your chart and sounding information in SplitScreen™ mode or in a single dedicated window. The InSight Sounder also offers unlimited custom color schemes, night and twilight vision support, and a shallow water alarm.

The Nobeltec InSight Sounder is a fully functional depth sounder/fishfinder that is controlled through your PC. It includes all the standard features found below.

• Dual-frequency 50/200 kHz depth sounder and fishfinder.
• Fully customizable color schemes.
• Multiple viewing options including full screen, bottom zoom, custom zoom, bottom lock, dual frequency and sea floor discrimination.
• Crusing and Fishing automatic modes.
• Drop unlimited Event Marks and Instant Waypoints.

The diagram below shows the configuration of an onboard network with an InSight Sounder. A complete set of installation instructions may be found in the InSight Sounder User’s Guide.

Sounder Overview
 
Nobeltec Navigation Software is sold separately and is required for the InSight sounder to work properly. The InSight Sounder is compatible with Nobeltec Admiral and Visual Navigation Suite (VNS). A list of shared features and differences can be found in the table below.

PLEASE NOTE: No prior versions have been tested or approved for Vista. At present time, some optional 3rd party applications or drivers included with Nobeltec Navigation Software do not operate under Vista. Jeppesen Marine is researching these outstanding issues with our partner companies, working to verify Vista compliance. We will notify users as more information becomes available. Here are some specific notes on Vista support:
  • Installation of v9.1 from Jeppesen CDs is required. Upgrades from prior versions do not include changes required for Vista support. (In other words, the downloaded patch to v9.1 does not include Vista support changes. Registered v9 customers may purchase the v9.1 CD from Nobeltec Sales directly.)
  • Only clean/new installations of 32-bit Vista are supported; upgrades from prior Operating Systems are not.
  • SkyMate "Connect Window" not supported under Vista at this time.
  • The version of OCENS WeatherNet installer shipping with Nobeltec Admiral is not Vista compatible; check at OCENS.com for an updated installer.
  • Nobeltec InSight Radar Black Box (IR2-BB) drivers are supported only for Windows XP and 2000 at this time.
  • Sea Level drivers for Vista are available at the Sealevel.com website.
In order to connect the InSight Sounder to your PC, your computer must meet the following minimum system requirements.

• Pentium® IV or AMD 1.0 GHz or equivalent
• 512 MB RAM
• 16 bit color VGA-compatible display (or better)

• CD-ROM drive (DVD required for Passport Deluxe data)
• Available USB or available RS-422 port †
• Mouse or other pointing device
