	SeaCAS� suite of SafePassage AIS receiver products�the 300, 150 and 100�are designed to assist you in safely navigating through congested shipping lanes and adverse weather conditions, helping you avoid collisions. Each product uses an AIS receiver to provide you with real-time information about all nearby commercial and AIS-equipped ships. You�ll know a ship�s: � Type, size, course, speed. � Their Closest Point of Approach (CPA) and the Time of Closest Point of Approach (TCPA). � Name and call sign to hail other ships on VHF in case of an impending collision. If you are on a collision course, the SeaCAS SafePassage gives you the information and response time you need to make good decisions.

How does AIS work?
Static and dynamic navigational data is sent via VHF from ship to ship. Thanks to GPS technology, this data can include a ship's position. Other information broadcast by AIS is electronically obtained from a ship's Gyro Compass.

AIS 300 installation instructions

	The SafePassageAIS 300 can be installed in three easy steps.
	1. Mount the single unit AIS receiver to any standard marine antenna mount (antenna mount not included). 2. Load the USB driver. 3. Install the Signal Converter near your computer, radar or chart plotter. Connect the USB cable to your computer or connect the serial cable to your chart plotter or radar. There's no need to run a separate power line if you use the USB connector since power is supplied to SafePassage through the USB port. If you use the serial connector you need to power the SafePassage with 12V DC.
NOTE: In the event that your vessel's 12V power supply or your inverter fails, your laptop's battery will act as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for both your navigation system and SeaCAS SafePassage.
