Installation Manual

The SS350S Bow Thruster is made specifically for salt water boating vessels up to 50 feet in length

Description: Bow Thruster 24 V DC, 400 Amps, Dual Prop, Aluminum Anodes

Horsepower: 7.5HP

Unit Size: 24" wide x 30" long

Kit Includes: External Thruster, Motor Controller, Joystick, Mounting Hardware, Installation Manual, Compression Terminals and the Harness that runs from the thruster to the motor controller

Battery Requirements: TWO 24V 850CCA; BCE GROUP 31- THREADED POST. SERIES CONFIGURATION

Maintenance: Replace Anodes Annually. Ensure air tube is secured in a dry area and in good condition. Use Anti-Fouling paint on thruster as required.

One Year Warranty: Sideshift units are warranted to be free from defects due to faulty workmanship or defective materials for a period of one year on complete Sideshift units. Units failing within the warranty period should be returned to Sideshift assembled and complete with copy of invoice. Sideshift will not be responsible for any incidental damage or expense caused by or relating to failure of its units. Sideshift will not cover any labour charges as in diagnostics, removal/replacement or any other costs incurred due to failure of the Sideshift unit. The following will void the warranty; damage due to improper installation or improper wire size, burnout due to overloading motor or related damage, tampering with or altering the motor before or after installation, damaged due to collision. Warranty does not cover paint damage, dents and nicks occurring after the delivery of the product to the customer.

 

CRUISER WITH UPPER HELM  

A cruiser with an upper helm can often be hard to maneuver and dock. This is because of the upper helm and planning hull. The wind will tend to push the bow of this type of boat. To solve this problem we recommend installing a SIDESHIFT bow thruster. If current is a factor there will be an opposite effect and a stern thruster will be needed. For the ultimate docking solution, install the SIDESHIFT bow and stern thruster combo package.

SPORT CRUISER

A sport cruiser can be hard to maneuver and dock. This is because of the planning hull. The wind will tend to push the bow of this type of boat. To solve this problem we recommend installing a SIDESHIFT bow thruster. If current is a factor there will be an opposite effect and a stern thruster will be needed. PONTOON BOAT MULTI-HULL

This boat type is often box like in shape. Whether you have strong winds or currents, this type of boat will be pushed evenly. Since most pontoon boats have an out drive maneuvering the stern is manageable. For maximum control of the bow, we recommend installing a SIDESHIFT bow thruster. HOUSE BOAT MONO HULL

This boat type is often box like in shape. Whether you have strong winds or currents, this type of boat will be pushed evenly. Since most pontoon boats have an out drive maneuvering the stern is manageable. For maximum control of the bow, we recommend installing a SIDESHIFT bow thruster. SAIL BOAT  

Sail boats often have a fixed keel in the center of the boat. This can create challenges when trying to maneuver and dock when you have strong winds or currents. To solve this problem we recommend installing a SIDESHIFT bow thruster. Whether you use a SIDESHIFT bow or stern thruster the pivot point will always be in the center. TRAWLER  

Trawlers have a displacement hull that is almost as deep in the water at the bow as the stern. The overall shape of the freeboard is usually high from mid ship to stern. The captain of this type of boat will often have difficulty controlling the stern. To solve this problem we recommend installing a SIDESHIFT stern thruster. 1 YEAR WARRANTY

Sideshift Inc. units are warrantied to be free from defects due to faulty workmanship or defective materials for a period of two years on complete SIDESHIFT System Units. Units failing within the warranty period should be returned to Sideshift Inc. assembled and complete with copy of invoice. Sideshift Inc. will not be responsible for any incidental damage or expense caused by or relating to failure of its units.
