RayTech RNS 6.0 transforms your PC into a Raymarine Multifunction Navigation Display

A simple, Ethernet connection between the PC and Raymarine�s SeaTalkhs network allows the captain to access and share radar, HD Digital� fishfinder, Navionics charts and navigation data instantly with Raymarine�s E-Series displays

Chartplotting The SeaTalkhs network enables network-wide chart sharing between E-Series displays and RayTech RNS 6.0 software. Access the full range of Navionics 2D charts, 3D charts, aerial photos, panoramic photos and service information from anywhere on board. Plus waypoints and routes are seamlessly exchanged between the PC and each E-Series display on the network.

HD Digital Fishfinder Network with Raymarine's DSM300 Digital Sounder Module and RayTech RNS 6.0 delivers full function HD Digital fishfinder functionality. The DSM300 offers fully automatic operation, choice of 600 or 1000 watt power output (depending on transducer) and unmatched digital echo sounder performance.

Radar PC and radar converge when RayTech RNS 6.0, E-Series and a Raymarine radar scanner are integrated together. The powerful RayTech charting engine enables transparent overlay of radar targets on top of vector, raster and aerial photo charts. Plus you can control the degree of radar transparency for maximum radar and chart integration.

Simple Installation

The key to integrating E-Series and RayTech RNS 6.0 is the super-fast SeaTalkhs network. Based on Ethernet technology, the 100 Megabit Raymarine SeaTalkhs network enables RayTech RNS 6.0 to efficiently transfer Platinum charts, HD Digital fishfinder, radar, GPS, navigation and more all through a single cable.

Best of all, no special hardware or interface is required at the PC. Using a standard Ethernet cable, plug one end into your SeaTalkhs Network Switch. Then, simply plug in to your laptop or desktop's standard RJ-45 Ethernet connection and you're connected!

SeaTalkhs is self-configuring, so there are no complicated IP or networking settings to worry about.

SeaTalk, hsb2 and NMEA Support

Are you a marine electronics enthusiast with a fully integrated system? RayTech RNS 6.0 offers you the most flexibility and interfacing options of any PC based navigation software.

In addition to E-Series' SeaTalkhs, RayTech RNS also integrates to Raymarine devices with SeaTalk and hsb2 networking. If you have equipment from other manufacturers, RayTech RNS 6.0 supports the industry standard NMEA 0183 protocol too.

SeaTalk Integration with Raymarine C-Series, Instruments and Autopilots

C-Series, ST60+, ST290, SmartPilot? No problem. RayTech RNS 6.0 is the only PC based navigation certified and engineered to work with Raymarine's SeaTalk navigation network. Using our PC-SeaTalk-NMEA Interface, you have instant access to all of your vital instrument and navigation data like wind speed and direction, speed through the water, GPS latitude/longitude and more. SeaTalk links RayTech RNS 6.0 to the full line of Raymarine autopilot systems, enabling the autopilot to steer to a waypoint or follow a route.

hsb2 Integration with Pathfinder Plus

Raytech RNS 6.0 also supports integration with Raymarine's previous generation Pathfinder Plus series display with hsb2 networking. Using either a USB 2.0 or PCMCIA Network Interface Kit, and the PC-SeaTalk-NMEA Interface, RayTech RNS 6.0 can share and control radar, C-MAP NT+ cartography and HD Digital� fishfinder with devices such as the RL70CRC+, Raychart 530+, L770DRC+ and more.

NMEA 0183 Interfacing

Do you have a mix of equipment on board that you'd like to be able to communicate with? No problem here either. RayTech RNS 6.0 supports the NMEA 0183 data protocol of the National Marine Electronics Association. The number of devices that RayTech can connect to is limited only be the number of serial connections you PC has available. RayTech RNS 6.0's automated instrument detection and configuration makes set up easy. For the advanced installer, you can goin in and customize the individual NMEA 0183 sentences transmitterd and received by the system.

RayTech RNS 6.0 Data Transfer Tools

Transferring waypoints, routes and other navigation between your PC and your onboard navigation systems is one of the fundamental reasons for adding a PC to your boat. RayTech RNS 6.0 has a robust set of tools to make moving this data between Raymarine products and other NMEA compatible products fast and easy. It's all controlled by RayTech's integrated Data Transfer Wizard. Simply click the import/export button to begin and choose from any of the following options.

Network Data Transfer RayTech RNS 6.0's network data transfer feature makes transferring waypoints to your Raymarine E-Series, Pathfinder Plus or other NMEA compatible device effortless. Simply select the type of network you want to share data with, select the data you want to send, and send it! RayTech RNS 6.0 handles the rest. You can also retrieve data from those devices just as easily.
Data Transfer By Flash Card Are you the owner of a Raymarine C-Series, E-Series, Raychart 400 or Raychart 435? RayTech RNS 6.0 is the perfect panning tool for use in your home of office. Plan this weekend's trip at home using your Navionics charts and the Navionics Multicard Chart Reader, and then transfer the data to a standard SanDisk Compact Flash Memory Card. When you get to the boat, simply plug the card into your chartplotter or multifunction display and import the voyage plan. When your trip is over, you can back up all the great new fishing spots you found over the weekend to the CF card, and take them back home.
Raymarine Pathfinder Plus chartplotters (like the Raychart 530+, 631+, RL70C+, RL80C+ and others) can benefit from this feature too. Using the optional C-MAP C-Card Reader/Writer and a C-MAP user card (sold separately, contact your dealer for details) you can transfer waypoints and routes between RayTech RNS 6.0 and your Raymarine Pathfinder Plus displays.
Export a Data File RayTech RNS 6.0 supports common data file formats for use with office applications like Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and other 3rd part applications. Choose to export your waypoints and routes in Excel format, as a comma-seperated-value (CSV) file and more.
Export to E-Mail Going on a trip with other Raymarine owners? E-mail them a copy of the voyage plan directly from RayTech RNS 6.0. When the file is received on the other end, the recipient simply double-clicks the Raymarine Waypoint File (RWF) attachment, where there copy of Raytech RNS 6.0 automatically unpacks it and stores it in their own waypoint and route lists.

RayTech RNS 6.0 System Requirements

Before you can begin installing RayTech, you need to make sure that the PC you intend to use meets the minimum hardware requirements for running the software. While RayTech will run successfully on the minimum requirement, for best performance, the optimum requirements are recommended.

Minimum System Requirements

Pentium IV processor
256MB RAM.
Windows 2000/XP.
CD-ROM drive.
Monitor - capable of displaying 1024 x 768 resolution, 16 bit color.

Optimum System Requirements

Pentium IV 2GHz processor or equivalent.
1GB RAM or higher.
NVIDIA GeForce graphics card.
Windows XP.

IMPORTANT

In addition to the minimum/optimum requirements Raytech RNS 6.0 will also require 1 or more of the following, depending on how the PC is to be connected to your instruments/system (None of these are required for the use of RayTech Planner):

Serial port - for connecting to NMEA or SeaTalk.
Ethernet port - for connecting to an E-Series display using SeaTalkhs
PCMCIA port - for connecting to a Pathfinder hsb2 system using a PCMCIA to hsb2 adaptor.
USB2 port - for connecting to a Pathfinder system using a USB2/PCMCIA adaptor.

Recommended Adapters

Serial to USB Adapter

In the event you are interfacing to SeaTalk or NMEA 0183 equipment, and your PC or laptop is not already equipped with a serial port, we recommend the following adapter:

SeaLevel Systems USB to RS-232 DB9 Serial Interface Adapter, Model Number 2105

This adapter is generally not required when networking RayTech RNS 6.0 with E-Series displays, as SeaTalk and NMEA data is carried over the E-Series' SeaTalkhs network.

Microsoft Wndows Service Packs and Windows Update

Before installing any software product on your PC, it is a good idea to make sure your PC's operating system is up-to-date. For best system and application performance, Raymarine strongly recommends installing the latest Microsoft Windows Service Pack applicable to your operating system. Additionally, it is recommended that you run the Microsoft Windows Update service before installing RayTech RNS 6.0. Windows Update is a free internet tool that provides up-to-the-minute updates for Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, and PC hardware device drivers. The Windows Update tool may be launched at any time by opening the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser, and clicking on the "Tools" menu, then selecting "Windows Update." Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the update.

Video Driver Updates

RayTech RNS 6.0 is a graphics intensive application. For optimal performance, Raymarine recommends installing the latest video driver update for your PC's graphics hardware. For desktop systems, these updates are available from the graphics hardware manufacturer, or possibly through the Microsoft Windows Update service. Notebook PC users should obtain the latest video driver update from the PC manufacturer.
