Replaces the manual drive used on cable steered boats and is mounted directly behind the dash.

Type S Straight Shaft Helm Drive Unit, MFG# 000-10907-001, Replaces manual drive used on cable-steered boats. Mounts directly behind dash. Compatible with Morse 290 steering helm. Includes bezel kit for retrofit on most installations.

The drive is directly compatible with the Morse 290 steering helm but comes with its own bezel kit and can be retrofitted in most installations using the cable and steering wheel from the manual steering helm on the boat.

Product Description

The drive is a rotary mechanical autopilot drive system which makes it simple and economical to fit an autopilot on smaller powerboats with mechanical push-pull cable steering. The drive unit is suitable for standard straight shaft configurations and incorporate a drive motor, solenoid clutch and integrated rudder feedback (RFB) capability. The compact drive unit completely replaces the existing manual steering helm and is totally concealed behind the dash, giving a neat, professional installation.
